Renting out your villa in Mauritius: The advantages of the South

Owning an apartment or a villa in Mauritius doesn’t necessarily mean occupying it. Anbalaba has put together a team of expert rental management professionals to help buyers maximise the return on their investment.

The South is not only a haven of extraordinary natural beauty. It also offers a huge range of outdoor and leisure activities, available year-round – perfect to keep your future Anbalaba tenants entertained. Yet another reason why renting out your Mauritian villa is a profitable proposition.

Understanding the tourist seasons in Mauritius to effectively rent out your villa:

Very high season (the southern summer)

  • The island’s very high season runs from December 20th to January 5th, at the height of the southern summer. Mauritius is in the highest demand from European holiday-makers during this period. The weather tends to be beautiful and very hot, and there are festivities across the island.

High season

  • There are three high seasons every year: October to December, January to mid-April and mid-July to August. It’s still possible to enjoy the island’s various water activities during these periods, from kayaking and paddleboarding to boating. It’s also the perfect time to play golf on Bel Ombre’s 18-hole course, a two-minute drive from Baie du Cap, or to hike in the stunning Black River Gorges National Park: two alternative "green" holidays in Mauritius’ South.

Low season (the southern winter)

  • Low season, from May 15th to July 15th and from August 20th to September 30th, is when winter arrives in Mauritius, carried by the intensifying trade winds. Yet these are the best months to try your hand at windsurfing or kitesurfing, both of which can be practiced within easy reach of Baie du Cap: either at Bel Ombre or on the Kite Lagoon at Le Morne. At this time of year, you can also take in the magical spectacle of humpback whales plying the waters beyond the coral reef, all from the comfort of your home.

The new high season: July / August

For the past several years, we’ve seen visitor numbers rise during the winter months, driven by two main activities: KITESURFING and HUNTING.

We are therefore seeing increasing demand for rentals from July 15th to August 20th.

Investing in Anbalaba is like taking out a mortgage against the development’s lush environment and its location, from which an extensive range of activities is within easy reach. Both are convincing sales arguments for holidaymakers looking to rent a home
